Applying SKU Generation to All or Existing Products
The SKU Generator for WooCommerce plugin automates the process by allowing you to apply SKUs to all or specific existing products. This ensures efficient and accurate tracking across your store.
Step 1: Access the SKU Generator
- Go to WooCommerce > SKU Generator in the WordPress admin panel.
- Click Add New Rule to create a new SKU generation rule.
Step 2: Configure the Basic Rule Settings
- Add Title: Enter a descriptive title for the rule, such as “SKU Rule for All Products” or “Category-Specific SKU Rule.”
Step 3: Locate “Product Restrictions”
You can decide how broadly the rule should apply by configuring the following settings:
- Apply on All Products: Check this box to generate SKUs for every product in your store automatically. This ensures uniform SKUs across the entire catalog.
Restrict SKU Generation (Optional):
If you don’t want to apply the rule to all products, select one or more of the following options:
- Select Categories: Choose specific categories where SKUs will be generated (e.g., “Electronics,” “Apparel”).
- Select Tags: Apply SKU rules to products with particular tags like “Sale” or “New Arrival.”
- Select Attributes: Restrict SKU generation based on attributes such as “Color,” “Size,” or “Material.”
