Configuring Tax Exempt Settings

Allowing Email Notifications for Tax Exemption

Navigate to the “General Setting” tab, as it contains key configuration options to activate and customize the module’s functionality.

Active Module: Enable this option to activate the Tax Exempt module.

Send Email to Admin: Enable this option to notify the admin via email whenever a tax exemption request is submitted.

Send Request Accepted Email: Enable this option to notify users when their tax exemption request has been approved.

Send Request Rejected Email: Enable this option to notify users when their tax exemption request has been rejected.

Creating Multiple Rules to Grant Tax Exemption

Adding a New Rule

In the “Rules” tab, you can create, manage, and prioritize tax exemption rules based on specific conditions. To create a new rule, click the + button and configure the following settings:

Enable Rule: Enable this option to activate the rule.

Rule Name: Provide a descriptive name for the rule.

Priority: Assign a priority level to the rule to determine its order of application.

Auto Tax Exemption: Enable this option to apply for tax exemption automatically without requiring admin approval. This setting will apply to all customer groups.

Customer Groups: Enable this option if you want to apply the rule to specific customer groups.

All Products: Enable this option to apply the rule to all products.

Products Selection: Apply the rule to specific products.

Categories Selection: Apply the rule to specific categories.

Manufacture Selection: Use this option to apply the rule to selected manufacturers.

Supplier Selection: Enable this option to apply the rule to selected suppliers.

Offer Tax Exempt on Checkout: Display a tax exemption request message on the checkout page.

Enable Scheduler: Schedule the rule for specific dates or times.

Customizing the Tax Exempt Request Form

The “Tax Exempt Request Form” tab allows you to customize the form displayed to users for submitting tax exemption requests.

Tax Exempt Form: Enable this option to display the Tax Exempt form for users to submit their requests.

Request Title: Include a title field on the form.

Custom Message: Add a custom message to the form for users.

File Upload: Allow users to upload supporting documents with their requests.

Approving/Rejecting Tax Exemption Requests

The “Tax Exemption Requests Log” tab provides a complete record of all submitted tax exemption requests. From here, you can:

  • View all requests in a tabular format.
  • Approve or reject individual requests.
  • Monitor the status and details of submitted requests.
