Creating Multiple Custom Checkout Fields
Adding Custom Fields
Navigate to the “Custom Fields” tab to create additional fields for your checkout process:
Click on “+” and provide the following details:
Field: Control the availability of the field.
Field Name: Enter a unique identifier for the field.
Field Type: Choose the most suitable input type for your field:
- Text
- Textarea
- Number
- Select
- Multiselect
- Checkbox(s)
- Radio Button(s)
- Date
- Switch
- Attachment
- Time
- Color
- Slider
- Star Rating
- Message (display only)
Selecting a Field Validation Type
Field Validation: Depending on the chosen field type, select the appropriate validation type. Here are the validation options:
- None: No validation applied.
- Decimal Number: Restrict input to decimal values.
- Integer Number: Accept only whole numbers.
- Email Address: Validate email input format.
- Only Letters: Restrict input to alphabets.
- Letters, Numbers & Symbols: Allow a mix of characters.
- Website URL Address: Validate URL format.
- Date: Ensure input follows a date format.
Example:
- Text Field: Supports “Letters, Numbers, and Symbols,” “Only Letters,” or “Website URL Address.”
- Number Field: Options include “Decimal Number” or “Integer Number.”
- Other field types share the same validation options
Specifying Field Name & Label
Field Properties:
Label: Provide a descriptive label for the field’s purpose.
Placeholder: Set a placeholder text to guide user input.
Short Description: Add a brief explanation about the field’s purpose.
Required Field: Enable this option to make the field mandatory.
Display Settings:
Customer Account: Control field visibility in the customer’s account and order status page.
Admin Order: Choose whether the field should be displayed in the admin’s order view.
Creating Rules to Restrict Custom Fields
Navigate to the “Rules” tab to define and manage rules for custom fields.
Click on “+” to create a new rule and fill in the following details:
Add Rule:
Rule: Enable or disable the rule.
Name: Enter a descriptive name for the rule.
Priority: Assign a numeric value to determine the rule’s execution order.
Heading: Provide a heading to describe the rule.
Selecting a Checkout Step to Add a Field
Checkout Step: Assign the custom fields to specific steps in the checkout process:
- Personal Information
- Addresses
- Shipping Method
- Payment
Choosing a Field Type
Field Selection: Click on the “Add Field” button to select and add multiple field types:
- Add Number
- Email Field
- Radio
- Add Picture
- Add Rating
- Slider
- Checkbox
- MultiSelect Field
- Text Field
- Text Area Field
- Date
- Switch
- Time Field
- Color
- Message
- Select Field
Applying Rules to Products & Categories
All Products: Enable this option to apply the rule to all products in your store. If disabled, restrict the rule to specific products or categories.
- Products: Search for and select specific products to which the rule will apply
- Categories: Choose the categories for rule application.
Restricting Rules Based on Customer Groups
Customer Group Selection: Enable the Customer Group Selection option to restrict rules to specific groups.
- Groups: Choose the customer group(s) for the rule.
Cart Quantity-Based Restrictions:
- Add Quantity: Display custom fields when the cart quantity meets the specified criteria.
Rule Scheduling: Toggle scheduling for the rule
- Start Date: Define the start date for the rule.
- End Date: Define the end date for the rule.
