Offering Free Gifts to Customers
Enabling the Free Gifts Module
Navigate to the “General Settings” tab in your Prestashop admin panel.
Module Active: Activate the module by toggling the option to “Activate.”
Click “Save” to apply the changes.
You can now access various tabs that allow you to create and manage rules, promotions, and design settings for offering free gifts.
Managing Pre-Defined Rules for Free Gifts
Navigate to the “Pre-defined Rules” tab to view and manage existing rules.
Click “+” to create a new rule. Follow the steps below to configure it:
Basic Settings:
Rule Enable: Enable or disable the rule.
Title: Enter a descriptive title for the rule.
Priority: Set a numeric value to determine the rule’s priority.
Type: Choose between:
- Automatic Gifts: Automatically add gifts to the cart when criteria are met.
- Manual Gifts: Allow customers to manually add gifts from the cart page.
Rule Validity: Enable or disable the rule’s validity.
- Rule Validity From: Specify the start date for the rule.
- Rule Validity To: Specify the end date for the rule.
Rule Type:
Rule Type: Select the desired rule type:
- Buy 1 Get 1 Free: Offer a free gift with a single purchase.
- Buy 2 Get 1 Free: Offer a free gift when two or more products are purchased.
- Buy 3 Get 1 Free: Offer a free gift when three or more products are purchased.
User Buy Type: Choose from the below options:
- User Buys Any Product: Customers receive a gift with any purchase.
- User Buys Selected Product: Customers receive a gift when they buy specific products.
- Buy Products: If enabled, a search box will appear for the user to search and select products.
- User Buys Products from Selected Categories: Customers receive a gift when purchasing from certain categories.
- Categories: If enabled, all categories will appear for the user to select.
- User Buys Products from Selected Suppliers: Customers receive a gift when purchasing from selected suppliers.
- Suppliers: If enabled, all suppliers will appear for the user to select.
Gifts:
Gift Type: Choose the type of gift:
- Gift Any Product: A random product is selected and gifted.
- Gift Selected Product: Specific products are chosen as gifts.
- Gift Products: If enabled, a search box will appear to allow the user to select products.
- Gift Any Product from Selected Category: Randomly select products from chosen categories.
- Categories: If selected, all categories will appear for the admin to select.
- Gift Any Product From Selected Suppliers: Randomly select products from chosen suppliers.
- Suppliers: If selected then list of all the suppliers will appear to choose from.
Click “Save” to finalize the rule.
Creating Custom Rules for Free Gifts
Navigate to the “Custom Rules” tab to view and manage custom rules.
Click “+” to create a new custom rule. Configure it as follows:
Basic Settings:
Rule Enable: Enable or disable the rule.
Title: Provide a title for the custom rule.
Priority: Assign a numeric priority value.
Groups: Select customer groups eligible for free gifts.
Gift Type: Choose from the two options:
- Automatic Gifts: Automatically add gifts to the cart when criteria are met.
- Manual Gifts: Allow customers to manually add gifts from the cart page.
Rule Validity: Enable or disable the rule’s validity.
- Rule Validity From: Specify the start date for the rule.
- Rule Validity To: Specify the end date for the rule.
Rule Type:
Rule Type: Select the desired option:
- Buy X Get Y: Customers receive ‘Y’ gifts when they purchase ‘X’ products.
- Value of X: Enter the number of products to qualify for the gift.
- Based on Cart Value: Offer gifts when the total cart value reaches a specified amount.
When you select the first option, provide the following details:
User Buy Type: Select from the four available options:
- User Buys Any Product: If this option is selected, the customer will receive a gift when they purchase any X number of products.
- User Buys Selected Product: Customers will only receive a gift when they purchase any X quantity of specific products.
- Buy Products: Search and add product(s) to the list.
- User Buys Products from Selected Categories: Customers will receive a free gift when they purchase X number of products from specific categories only.
- Categories: Specify the categories to include in the rule.
- User Buys Products from Selected Suppliers: Customers will receive a gift when they buy X number of products from selected suppliers.
- Suppliers: choose the suppliers whose products will be considered for this rule.
Gifts:
Value of Y: Specify the number of gifts provided.
Gift Type: Choose from several options to define how the gifts are selected and provided to the customers:
- Gift Any Product: A random product will be selected and gifted to the customer.
- Gift Selected Product: Specific products that you pre-select will be gifted to the customer.
- Gift Products: Search and add specific product(s) that you want to gift.
- Gift Any Product from Selected Category: A random product from a selected category will be gifted to the customer.
- Categories: Choose the specific categories from which a product will be randomly selected and given as a gift.
- Gift Any Product From Selected Suppliers: A random product from a selected supplier will be gifted to the customer.
- Suppliers: Choose the specific suppliers from whom a product will be randomly selected and given as a gift.
Click “Save” to apply the changes.
Setting Up Promotions
Navigate to the “Promotions” tab to view and manage existing promotions.
Click “+” to create a new promotion.
Product Selection:
Enable Promotion: Toggle to enable or disable the promotion.
Title: Provide a title for the promotion.
Type: Choose from:
- Whole Site: Apply the promotion across the entire site.
- Products: Apply the promotion to specific products matching the gifting rules.
- Categories: Apply the promotion to specific categories matching the gifting rules.
- Suppliers: Apply the promotion to specific suppliers matching the gifting rules.
Click “Save” to activate the promotion.
Customizing Design Settings
The design settings allow you to customize how the promotion is displayed on your site.
Navigate to the “Design” tab. Configure the following options:
Position: Choose the position of the promotional banner.
- Top Bar
- Bottom Bar
Bar Width: Define the width of the bar.
Enable Background Image: Choose to activate or deactivate the background image.
Background Color: Choose the background color for the promotional banner.
Text Color: Select text color for the promotional banner.
Text Font: Select a font for the text of the promotional banner.
Message: Enter the message to be displayed on the promotional banner.
Click “Save” to apply the design settings.
