How to Create Rules to Hide Menu Items?

Creating Rules to Hide Menu Items

Store owners can efficiently manage their store’s navigation and provide a more targeted, personalized experience to their customers using the PrestaShop Hide Menu Items by Customer Groups module.

Follow these steps to create customized rules for hiding or showing menu items in PrestaShop:

1. Begin by installing and activating the PrestaShop Hide Menu Items by Customer Groups module.

2. Navigate to the module’s general settings and ensure it is activated to enable its functionality.

3. Add a New Rule: To create a new rule, click on the “+” button to start configuring specific rules for hiding or showing menu items.

4. Rule Configuration Options:

  • Rule Enable: Toggle this setting to activate or deactivate the rule. Disabled rules will not impact menu visibility.
  • Title: Give the rule a descriptive title for easy identification in the list of rules.
  • Priority: Assign a priority level to the rule. Higher-priority rules will override lower-priority ones in cases of conflict.
  • Customer Groups: Select the customer groups for which the rule will apply. This allows you to hide or show menu items based on the selected groups.
  • Hide and Show Menu Items: Decide whether to hide or show specific menu items for the chosen customer groups.
  • Menu Items: Choose the menu items that will be affected by this rule.
  • Customers: Optionally, select individual customers for whom the rule will apply.
  • Hide or Show by IP: Filter menu visibility based on the customer’s IP address to target specific regions or networks.
  • Country: Select countries where the rule should apply.
  • City: Refine the rule by specifying cities.
  • State: Narrow down the rule’s application to specific states.
  • Post Code: Target specific postal codes for precise control over menu visibility.
  • Rule Schedule: Enable this option to define a start and end date for the rule.

5. After setting up the rule with your desired options, click “Save” to apply the changes.
