How to Remove Language ISO from the Default Language?

Removing Language ISO

If you want to make your PrestaShop store’s URLs cleaner and more professional-looking, removing the language ISO from the default language URLs is a great step. The Pretty SEO Friendly URL module makes this process simple. Here’s how you can do it:

1. Install and Activate the Module:

Before you start, ensure that the PrestaShop Pretty SEO Friendly URL module is installed and activated on your store.

2. Navigate to General Settings:

Once the module is active, go to the General Settings tab in the module’s configuration. This is where you can control various aspects of how your URLs are formatted.

3. Enable the “Remove Language ISO from Default Language” Option:

Look for the option labeled Remove Language ISO from Default Language. By enabling this setting, you will remove the language ISO (such as “/en” for English) from the URLs of your default language. For example, instead of having URLs like “mystore.com/en/product,” it will simply be “mystore.com/product.” If you prefer to keep the ISO visible, just leave this option disabled.

4. Save the Changes:

After making your selection, click the Save button to apply the changes. Your default language URLs will now appear cleaner without the extra language code.
