Setting Automatic/Manual Approval of Cookies
To set the automatic or manual approval of cookies for the WooCommerce Cookie Consent Bar, follow these steps:
Setting Cookie Approval Method:
Access Plugin Settings:
Go to your WordPress Admin Panel.
In your WordPress dashboard, look for the “Cookie Consent” option and click on “Basic Settings.”
Select Cookie Apply Method:
In the Basic Settings section, you will find the “Cookie Apply Method” option. There are two options to choose from:
- Automatic: With this option, cookies are created automatically when a user visits your website, and a notification message is shown to users on the front end. Users do not need to click any button to create cookies; they are created as soon as a user accesses your website.
- Manual: If you choose this option, a notification message is displayed to users, but an “Agree” button is also shown. Cookies are only created when the user actively clicks the “Agree” button. Until the user clicks “Agree,” no cookies are created, ensuring explicit user consent.
Save Changes:
After selecting your preferred cookie approval method, save the changes within the plugin settings.
By following these steps, you can set whether cookies are created automatically when users visit your website or if users need to manually agree to cookie creation by clicking an “Agree” button in compliance with GDPR and other privacy regulations.
