Tailoring Sorting Rules to Specific Customer Groups
Tailoring sorting rules to specific customer groups is a powerful way for store owners to customize the shopping experience for different types of customers. Whether it’s wholesale clients, VIP members, or first-time buyers, setting unique sorting rules for these groups ensures they see in-stock products that match their needs first.
Let’s go through the steps to set up these tailored sorting rules for customer groups:
Step 1: Install and Activate the Module
- Install the PrestaShop Priority Sorting for In-Stock Products module if it’s not already installed.
- Activate the module:
- Go to General Settings and toggle the Enable Module option to ensure in-stock products appear at the top of listings.
- Click Save to apply your activation settings.
Step 2: Open the Rules Tab
- In the module settings, go to the Rules tab.
- Click the “+” button to add a new rule and start configuring it to suit your customer groups.
Step 3: Configure Basic Rule Settings
Activate the Rule: Toggle the rule to active to apply the conditions you set.
Name: Give your rule a unique name to easily identify it in the future.
Set Priority: Enter a numeric value for priority. Lower numbers indicate higher priority, allowing this rule to apply before others if needed.
Step 4: Select Customer Groups
Choose Groups: Enable this option to specify which customer groups should see in-stock items first based on this rule.
Select Groups: Select the relevant groups (e.g., wholesale customers, VIPs) from the list, to apply sorting prioritization only to these specific segments.
Step 5: Save the Rule
Once you’ve configured the rule and chosen the customer groups, click Save.
The rule is now active, and your selected customer groups will see in-stock products prioritized according to your settings.
