Restricting CMS Popups Based on Customer Groups and Products
Customizing the delivery of content to specific customer segments is a crucial aspect of personalizing the shopping experience on your online store. The PrestaShop CMS Pages as Popup module allows you to display targeted popups based on customer groups and specific product pages.
Step 1: Install and Activate the Module
Install the Module: Download and install the “PrestaShop CMS Pages as Popup” module from the PrestaShop Addons Marketplace or upload it manually via your back office.
Activate the Module: After installation, activate the module by navigating to the “Modules” section in your PrestaShop back office.
Step 2: Access the Module Settings
Go to Modules: In your PrestaShop back office, click on “Modules” and navigate to the “Installed Modules” section.
Select Addify CMS Popup: Locate the “Addify CMS Popup” module and click on it to start configuring the settings.
Step 3: Enable the Popup Feature
General Settings:
- Enable: Toggle the setting to “Yes” to activate the popup functionality.
Step 4: Navigate to the Rules Section
Go to Rules: In the module settings, find the “Rules” section where you can create and manage rules for displaying popups.
Step 5: Create a New Rule
Enable the Rule:
- Enable: Set this option to “Yes” to activate the rule.
Assign a Rule Name:
- Rule Name: Provide a descriptive name for the rule, such as “VIP Customers Popup” or “Product Launch Promotion.” This helps in identifying the rule easily.
Set the Priority:
- Priority: Assign a priority level to the rule. Higher priority rules (with lower numbers) will override other rules if they conflict.
Step 6: Configure Customer Group Restrictions
Enable Group Restrictions:
- Enable Groups: Toggle this option to “Yes” to enable customer group-specific restrictions.
Select Customer Groups:
- Group: Choose one or more customer groups to which this rule will apply, such as “Visitor,” “Guest,” or “Customer.”
Step 7: Set the Page Type for Popup Display
Choose the Page Type:
Front Page: Select the type of page where you want the popup to appear. Options include:
- Home: Display the popup on the homepage.
- Category: Display the popup on category pages.
- Product: Display the popup on specific product pages.
Step 8: Save and Apply the Changes
Click Save: After configuring the rule, click “Save” to apply your settings.
Step 9: Test the Popup
Preview: Visit the specific pages or log in as a member of the restricted customer group to test the popup.
Adjust if Necessary: If the popup does not function as expected, return to the settings and make any necessary adjustments.
