Adding Unlimited Custom Fields on Checkout Pages

Prestashop Custom Checkout Fields module empowers store owners to personalize their checkout process and offers a seamless way to collect crucial customer information. This feature is essential for creating tailored shopping experiences, improving data collection, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Step 1: Install and Activate the Module

  • Purchase and download the Prestashop Custom Checkout Field module.
  • Navigate to your Prestashop back office, go to Modules > Module Manager.
  • Upload, install, and activate the module.

Step 2: Access the Module Configuration

  • After installation, go to the Modules section in your back office.
  • Locate the Addify Checkout Fields module and click on it to begin configuration.

Step 3: Create Custom Fields

  • Navigate to the Custom Fields tab within the module settings.
  • Click on the “+” button to add a new field.
  • Provide the following details:
    • Field: Enable or disable the field’s availability.
    • Field Name: Assign a unique identifier for the field.
    • Field Type: Select the appropriate input type (e.g., Text, Email, Checkbox).

Step 4: Configure Field Validation

  • Based on the selected field type, choose a validation option:
    • None: No validation applied.
    • Decimal Number: Restrict input to decimal values.
    • Integer Number: Accept only whole numbers.
    • Email Address: Validate email input format.
    • Only Letters: Restrict input to alphabets.
    • Letters, Numbers & Symbols: Allow a mix of characters.
    • Website URL Address: Validate URL format.
    • Date: Ensure input follows a date format.

Step 5: Specify Field Properties

  • Label: Enter a descriptive name for the field.
  • Placeholder: Add placeholder text for user guidance.
  • Short Description: Provide a brief explanation of the field’s purpose.
  • Required Field: Mark the field as mandatory if necessary.

Step 6: Adjust Display Settings

  • Configure the field’s visibility in:
    • Customer Account: Choose if the field is displayed in the customer’s account and order details.
    • Admin Order View: Decide if the field appears in the admin panel for order management.

Step 7: Save and Test

  • After configuring the settings, click the Save button.
  • Test the checkout process on your store to ensure the custom fields function as expected.
