The Prestashop Custom Checkout Fields module empowers store owners to personalize the checkout experience by hiding or showing fields based on customer groups, products, or categories. This feature enhances user engagement, ensures relevant data collection, and streamlines the shopping process for different customers.
Step 1: Install and Activate the Module
- Download the Prestashop Custom Checkout Field module and upload it to your Prestashop back office.
- Go to Modules > Module Manager and install the module.
- Activate the module to start configuration.
Step 2: Access the Rules Configuration
- Navigate to the Modules section in your back office.
- Locate and select the Addify Checkout Fields module.
- Go to the Rules tab to create or manage field visibility rules.
Step 3: Add a New Rule
- Click the “+” button to create a new rule.
- Fill in the following details:
- Rule: Enable or disable the rule.
- Name: Provide a descriptive name for the rule.
- Priority: Assign a numeric value to determine the rule’s execution order.
- Heading: Add a heading to describe the rule’s purpose.
Step 4: Select the Checkout Step
- Choose where the custom fields will appear during the checkout process:
- Personal Information
- Addresses
- Shipping Method
- Payment
Step 5: Add and Configure Fields
- Click the Add Field button to create fields, selecting the desired input types, such as:
- Text, Checkbox, Radio Button, Date, Slider, Color, etc.
Step 6: Apply Rules to Products and Categories
- All Products: Enable this to apply the rule to all products.
- Products: Search and select specific products.
- Categories: Choose specific categories to apply the rule.
Step 7: Restrict Rules Based on Customer Groups
- Enable the Customer Group Selection option.
- Choose the customer group(s) for which the rule will apply (e.g., Wholesale, VIP).
Step 8: Set Quantity-Based Restrictions
- Cart Quantity: Specify conditions for when the rule applies based on the cart’s item quantity.
Step 9: Schedule the Rule (Optional)
- Toggle the scheduling option.
- Define a Start Date and End Date to limit the rule’s active period.
Step 10: Save and Test
- Click Save to apply the settings.
- Test the checkout process to ensure the rules work as intended for the defined customer groups, products, or categories.
