Offering Free Gifts Automatically or Manually
Offering free gifts, whether automatically or manually, is a great way to incentivize purchases and reward customers for their loyalty.
Automatic gifts simplify the process by adding the gift directly to the customer’s cart once certain criteria are met, while manual gifts give customers control over which gifts they want to select.
Here’s how to set this up in PrestaShop:
Step-by-Step Process to Offer Gifts Automatically or Manually
1. Install the PrestaShop Free Gifts Module
Begin by installing and activating the PrestaShop Free Gifts module.
2. Activate the Module
Navigate to the “General Settings” tab in your PrestaShop admin panel.
Find the option Module Active and toggle it to “Activate.”
Click Save to confirm and activate the module.
3. Choose to Edit Pre-Defined Rules or Create New Custom Rules
Once activated, you can either edit Pre-Defined Rules or create new Custom Rules to define how gifts are offered.
Navigate to the “Custom Rules” or “Pre-Defined Rules” tab and click the “+” button to add a new rule, or select an existing one to edit.
4. Configure Basic Settings for the Rule
In the Basic Settings of the rule, you will find a field labeled Type. This is where you choose how gifts are offered:
- Automatic Gifts: Gifts will automatically be added to the customer’s cart when they meet the rule criteria (e.g., purchasing a specific product or reaching a certain cart value).
- Manual Gifts: Customers can manually add gifts to their cart from the cart page after meeting the criteria.
5. Complete the Rule Setup
After selecting the gift type (Automatic or Manual), continue configuring the remaining settings, such as eligible products, categories, or cart value thresholds.
Add specific products to be gifted, define customer groups eligible for the promotion, and set validity dates.
6. Save the Rule
Once you have set up all the required parameters, click Save to apply the rule. The new rule will now offer gifts either automatically or allow customers to manually add them based on the criteria you’ve set.
