Allowing Tax Exemptions for Customer Groups, Products, and Suppliers
Managing tax exemptions can enhance the shopping experience for specific customer groups, promote tax-exempt products, and streamline supplier-specific tax rules. The PrestaShop Tax Exempt Module allows you to configure flexible tax exemption rules that cater to unique business needs.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to get started:
Step 1: Install the PrestaShop Tax Exempt Module
- Download and install the PrestaShop Tax Exempt Module.
- Navigate to your PrestaShop Admin Panel.
- Go to Modules > Module Manager.
- Search for Addify Tax Exempt and click Install.
- Once installed, activate the module to begin configuration.
Step 2: Access the Configuration Panel
- After activation, navigate to Modules > Installed Modules.
- Locate Addify Tax Exempt and click on Configure.
- You’ll be directed to the module settings, where you can create and manage tax exemption rules.
Step 3: Create a New Tax Exemption Rule
Go to the Rules tab in the configuration panel.
Click the + button to create a new rule.
Configure the following settings:
- Enable Rule: Toggle this option to activate the rule.
- Rule Name: Provide a descriptive name to identify the rule.
- Priority: Assign a priority level (lower numbers are applied first).
- Auto Tax Exemption: Enable this to automatically apply the rule without admin approval.
Step 4: Define Rule Scope
- Customer Groups: Select specific customer groups eligible for tax exemptions.
- All Products: Apply the exemption to all products in your catalog.
- Product Selection: Choose specific products to include in the rule.
- Category Selection: Define product categories for which the rule applies.
- Manufacturer Selection: Target products by specific manufacturers.
- Supplier Selection: Apply exemptions to products from selected suppliers.
Step 5: Add Additional Features (Optional)
- Offer Tax Exempt at Checkout: Display a tax exemption request option for customers during checkout.
- Enable Scheduler: Set specific start and end dates for the rule to apply automatically.
Step 6: Save and Apply the Rule
- Review your configurations and click Save to apply the rule.
- The rule will now be active and visible in the Rules tab.
