Creating a Custom Timeline
To create a custom timeline for notifying customers about order status using the WooCommerce Order Tracking Plugin, follow these steps:
Install and Activate the WooCommerce Order Tracking Plugin:
Ensure that you have the WooCommerce Order Tracking Plugin installed and activated on your WordPress site.
Access the Timeline Settings:
Go to your WordPress admin dashboard.
Navigate to WooCommerce > Order Tracking > Timeline.
Configure Progress Bar Settings
In the “Progress Bar Settings” section, you can set up the appearance and functionality of your custom order timeline:
Toggle the Timeline On/Off: Use the “Timeline” toggle to enable or disable the timeline on the order detail page.
Set the Timeline Title: Enter a title for your custom timeline. This title will be displayed above the timeline accordion on the order view page.
Enable or Disable Date and Time Display: Use the “Enable Date” and “Enable Time” toggles to choose whether to display the status date and time on status updates.
Choose Timeline Bar Colors: Select the colors for various elements of the timeline:
- “Timeline Bar Color” allows you to set the color for the timeline bar.
- “Timeline Active Color” lets you choose the color for the active timeline bar (the stage the order is currently in).
- “Timeline Inactive Color” allows you to set the color for the inactive timeline bars.
Customize the Timeline Stages
In the “Timeline Stages” section, you can create and customize the individual stages of your custom order timeline:
Enable or Disable Timeline Stage: Toggle the switch next to each stage to enable or disable it as part of the order tracking timeline.
Set the Label of Timeline: Enter a label for each stage. This label is the text that will be displayed for each stage of the timeline.
Customize Timeline Description: Customize the text shown on the stage description using placeholders such as {CARRIER_NAME}, {TRACKING_ID}, {PICKUP_DATE}, and {TRACKING_LINK}. These placeholders will be replaced with real tracking information.
Upload a Timeline Icon: You can upload an image or icon for each timeline stage. If you leave this field empty, the plugin will use a default icon.
Save Your Changes:
Once you’ve configured the progress bar settings and customized the timeline stages according to your needs, be sure to save your changes.
Use the Custom Timeline:
When you view an order’s details, you should now see the custom timeline with the stages you’ve created. It will display the order’s progress, and customers will be able to track their orders with the relevant status updates and tracking information.
By following these steps, you can create a custom timeline to notify your customers about the status of their orders using the WooCommerce Order Tracking Plugin.
