Setting Up PrestaShop Smart Refund – General Settings

This lets you manage how refunds are handled in your store for customers.

Activate Module: Toggle this option to activate or deactivate the refund management module.

Accept All Refund Requests Automatically: Decide if you want all refund requests to be accepted automatically.

  • Selecting “Yes” will automatically accept all refund requests as they come in.

Show Refund Message: Enable or disable a confirmation message to display after a refund request is submitted.

  • Selecting “No” will result in not displaying the refund confirmation message to customers.

Refund Message Box: Integrate the message customers will see after submitting a refund request.

  • If you choose not to enter the refund message then your customers will be able to view the default message as “Refund request has been submitted successfully.”

Number of Days for Refund: Set the number of days customers have to request a refund.

Create and Manage Smart Refund Rules

The PrestaShop Smart Refund module provides set of features, including: 

  1. Return Addresses
  2. Return Reason List
  3. Refund Request

You can access a complete list of all three in a separate log. The Smart Refunds for Prestashop lets you easily manage return reasons and addresses by adding, editing, or changing their status in a comprehensive log with bulk action support. 

Let’s look at each in detail. 

Return Address Settings

Easily configure the address details for return purposes or other specified needs.

Address Enable: Toggle this option to enable or disable the address section.

Address Title: Enter a title for the address, such as “Return Address” or “Warehouse Address.”

Address Line: Enter the first line of the address, such as a street address.

Zip Code: Integrate the postal or ZIP code associated with this address.

City: insert the city where the address is located.

Country: Select or enter the country for this address.

State: Choose the state or region for this address if applicable.

Return Reason Settings

With the Smart Refund you can manage reasons for returns and define who will cover shipping costs:

  • Reason Enable: Toggle this option to enable or disable the reason for return.
  • Reason Title: Enter a title for the reason, such as “Reason for Return.”
  • Reason: Specify the reason for the return such as; “Size not right,” “Product damaged” etc.
  • Shipping Paid By: Select who will be responsible for return shipping costs.

Manage Refund Request Settings

Go to PrestaShop > Manage Refund System > Manage Refunds Requests you will see a detailed log of all refund requests. Here, you can create and manage multiple refund requests with the provided option, such as: 

  • View all product refund requests in a log
  • Execute bulk actions
  • Change the status of each rule
  • Take action to delete or view

By selecting the refund request section, you can manage the status of each request with options like:

  • All: View all refund requests.
  • Approved: View requests that have been approved.
  • Pending: Review requests that are awaiting action.
  • Denied: See requests that were not approved.

Log Details: Each refund request log provides essential details for each product, helping you make informed decisions quickly. Here’s a breakdown of the available information:

  • Product: Displays the product name.
  • Product Attribute: Shows specific attributes like size or color (e.g., “Size: S – Color: White”).
  • Quantity: Indicates the quantity of the item requested for a refund.
  • Price: The total cost of the product.
  • Address : Displays the customer’s address associated with the refund request.
  • Reason: Shows the customer’s reason for requesting a refund (e.g., “Size not right”).
  • Shipping Paid By: Specifies who is responsible for shipping costs, like “Store Owner” or “Customer.”
  • Approval/Deny: Shows whether the request has been approved or denied.
  • Request Status: Indicates the current status of the request, such as Pending, Approved, or Denied.
  • Deny Status: Provides details if the request was denied.
  • Request Date : Displays the date on which the refund request was made.
