Automating Currency Exchange Rates Through API
Manually updating exchange rates can be time-consuming and prone to errors. Automating this process streamlines operations and reduces the risk of discrepancies in pricing.
Utilizing an API ensures that your store’s exchange rates are updated in real-time or at regular intervals specified by you. This guarantees that your pricing remains accurate and reflects the current market rates.
To automate currency exchange rates through an API, follow these steps:
Install and activate the Addify Multi-Currency Switcher plugin to enable multi-currency functionality on your WooCommerce store.
Access API Settings:
Navigate to WooCommerce > Custom Currencies > Settings > API.
Configure Currency Exchange API:
In the Currency Exchange API section, you’ll find a dropdown menu offering different API options:
- Exchanges Rates Data API
- Fixer API
- Currency Data API
Select your preferred API provider.
Enter API Key:
After selecting your API provider, insert the API key into the designated field. This key authenticates your access to the API.
Specify Update Frequency:
Choose how often you want the exchange rates to be updated. Options typically include:
- Hourly
- Daily
Save Changes:
Click “Save Changes” to apply the new API settings.
