Allowing Customers to Configure Products
The Product Configurator plugin allows customers to configure products in WooCommerce. They can choose products from the given components or the specific category assigned for the components in your store. To allow customers to configure products, follow these steps:
- Install and activate the plugin in your store.
Create a New Composite Product:
- After activating the plugin, go to “Products” and click on “Add New” to create a new product.
- In the “Product Data” panel, select the “Configurable Product” type. This option is available through the plugin you installed.
Add Components:
- Once you’ve selected the “Configurable Product” type, you will see a “Components” tab. Click on it to add new components.
- In the “Components” section, you can create various product components or options that customers can choose from. For example, if you’re selling custom t-shirts, you could create components for size, color, and design.
Configure Component Settings:
- Access both basic and advanced settings for each component you create. This will allow you to define the properties, options, and pricing for each component. For example, for the “Size” component, you can set options like “Small,” “Medium,” and “Large” and assign different prices to each size option.
Set Up Product Category (Optional):
- As mentioned, you can also give customers the option to choose products from a specific category in your store.
- To do this, you can create a category for the products you want to include as choices and set up this category within the configurator.
Once you’ve configured all the components and settings for your composite product, click the “Publish” button to make it live on your WooCommerce store.
