Adjusting Time Duration to Control Rule Expiry and Reapplication
Adjust the time duration to control the expiry and reapplication of subscription cancellation rules in WooCommerce using the Woo Subscription Cancellation Custom Rules plugin. This feature is necessary to provide clear, enforceable rules for subscription cancellations, ensuring predictable revenue for businesses and transparency for customers. It helps manage expectations and prevents disputes over cancellation terms.
Install and Activate the Plugin:
- Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
- Search for “Woo Subscription Cancellation Custom Rules”.
- Click Install Now next to the plugin.
Activate the Plugin:
- Once installed, click Activate to enable the plugin.
Access Product Settings:
- Go to Products: In the WordPress admin panel, go to Products.
- Select a Product: Choose the product for which you want to configure subscription cancellation rules.
Locate Product Data:
- Open Product Data: Scroll down to the “Product Data” section.
- From the dropdown menu, select Simple Subscription.
Configure Subscription Cancellation Rules:
- Select Cancellation Rules: In the “Product Data” section, find the options to configure subscription cancellation rules.
- Set separate configurations for when cancellation is allowed and when it is not.
Enable/Disable Cancellation:
- Enable Cancellation: Choose this option to allow users to cancel their subscriptions based on the specified conditions.
- Disable Cancellation: Choose this option to prevent users from cancelling their subscriptions based on the specified conditions.
Set Interval for Cancellation Rule: Select the preferred interval type for the cancellation rule:
- Minute
- Hour
- Day
- Week
Enter Start Time:
- Define from when users can start or are prevented from cancelling the subscription.
Enter End Time:
- Define until when users can cancel or are prevented from cancelling the subscription.
Set Rule Duration for Cancellation:
- Cancellation Rule Applicable For: Specify the maximum number of billing periods or successful payments after which a user cannot cancel or reactivate their subscription.
- Example: If you want users to cancel within the first three billing periods, set the rule accordingly.
Update the Product:
- Save Changes: After configuring the rules, click on the Update button to apply the changes to the product.
