WooCommerce Role Based Tax plugin lets you effortlessly set and exhibit distinct tax rates for individual user roles within your e-commerce store. This helps to streamline your tax administration process. 

Ensure that you have WooCommerce Role Based Tax installed and activated on your WordPress website. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Global Configuration:

In your WordPress admin panel, go to WooCommerce > Role Based Tax. From the Tax Settings, click on “Add Rule Settings” to create a new tax rule.

In the “Add Rule Settings” section:

  • Enter a title for the rule to easily identify it later.
  • Under “User Roles,” select and add the user roles to which you want to apply the role-based tax.
  • Complete other details and click on publish to create a rule.

Next, go to the “Tax Rates” section and choose to edit Tax Rates for each type, including:

  • Standard Rate
  • Reduced Rate
  • Zero Rate

Click on “Edit Role Based Tax” to apply tax to selected user roles. Enable the user role and fill in the following sections:

  • Tax Name
  • Tax Rate
  • Compound
  • Shipping

Product-Level Configuration:

You can also restrict Role Based Tax to selected products. Go to Products and apply the functionality to the new or existing product. Within the product settings, you’ll find a new section related to “Role-Based Tax” settings.

  • Select the user roles for which you want to configure tax settings.
  • Specify the tax status and tax class relevant to the selected user role.
  • Save your product settings.
